Terms of Service

[REVIEW BEFORE PUBLISH] This is a starting draft, not legal advice. Have a lawyer review it — especially the age-requirement and refunds sections below — before this is published or Krafft is available to the public.

1. What Krafft is

Krafft is a personal nutrition and strength-training tracking tool. It uses an AI model, with your consent, to estimate the macronutrient content of foods you describe or photograph, and to answer questions about your own logged history. Krafft is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and is not a substitute for guidance from a doctor, registered dietitian, personal trainer, or other qualified professional.

2. Who can use Krafft

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission to use Krafft, particularly before acting on anything in the Supplements guide or before subscribing. Krafft is not directed at children under 13, and accounts found to belong to users under 13 will be removed.

3. Your account

You're responsible for the accuracy of what you log and for keeping your password confidential. You can delete your account at any time from Profile; doing so permanently removes your data (see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that includes).

4. AI-generated estimates

Macro estimates from a text description or photo, and answers from Ask AI, are AI-generated approximations. They can be wrong — meaningfully wrong, especially for photos with unclear portions or unusual foods. Don't rely on them for a medical condition (e.g. diabetes carb-counting) without independent verification. These features are only available after you explicitly agree to Krafft's AI data-use consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time from Profile.

5. Supplements content

The Supplements & Vitamins guide is educational information, not a recommendation to take any particular supplement. It intentionally presents both benefits and drawbacks, including cautions for some categories. Starting, stopping, or changing any supplement is a decision between you and a healthcare provider. The same goes for any training split, exercise, or lift target you set up in Krafft — it's a personal record-keeping tool, not a program prescribed for you, and you're responsible for training within your own physical limits.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use Krafft to log or share content that is illegal, abusive, or infringes someone else's rights. Don't attempt to access another user's account or data. The friend leaderboard is opt-in on both sides — don't use it to harass or repeatedly re-add someone who has removed you.

7. Free tier, subscriptions & payment

7.1 What's free vs. paid

Krafft's core logging — manual food and lift entry, Quick Add, your dashboard, training splits — is free with no time limit and no credit card required. The AI features (photo/text macro estimation, Ask AI, and Session Analysis) require an active subscription. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial before the first charge.

7.2 Plan and billing

The subscription is $4.99/month. Billing is handled entirely by Stripe on Krafft's website — including when you start a subscription from the iOS app, where "Upgrade" opens Krafft's website in your browser to complete checkout, rather than Apple's in-app purchase system. You can cancel anytime from "Manage Subscription" in Profile; canceling stops future charges and AI-feature access at the end of the period you've already paid for — your logged data and the free tier remain fully available either way.

7.3 Authorization to charge

By starting a subscription, you — or, if you are under 18, your parent or guardian — are authorizing Krafft to charge the payment method on file on a recurring basis for the subscription amount, until the subscription is canceled.

7.4 Refunds

[REVIEW BEFORE PUBLISH] Placeholder refund policy below — confirm the actual policy you want before publishing.

Subscription charges are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or at Krafft's discretion (see 7.5 for the minors case, which we do handle directly). If you believe you were charged in error, contact us before disputing the charge with your bank or card issuer — a chargeback costs us a fee on top of the disputed amount, on top of a refund we'd likely have issued anyway if simply asked.

7.5 Minors and unauthorized subscriptions

If a parent or guardian discovers that a minor subscribed without their knowledge or consent, contact odoglusk+platedsupport@gmail.com to request cancellation and a refund for the current billing period. We handle these directly and promptly.

7.6 Repeated disputes

Repeated unauthorized-signup disputes tied to the same account or payment method may result in requiring confirmation from a parent or guardian before that account is permitted to resubscribe.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Krafft is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Krafft's operator is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including decisions made based on AI-generated estimates, the Supplements guide, or a training split you set up.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the app changes. Material changes will be noted with an updated "Last updated" date above.
